Petar Stefanov: Sets renaissance Cooperatives

President of the Central Cooperative Union Petar Stefanov said the forthcoming revival of cooperatives. This happened at the 35th general meeting of the Central Cooperative Union.

"Going back to years ago, we see that in the most difficult years, cooperatives are created and managed by the brightest, most progressive, the most morally stable personalities of his time. Today we are the people who make the decisions that share the successes and problems of cooperative organizations in Bulgaria, "said Stefanov.

President outlined the main directions of development of cooperatives. Business development strategies and dialogue with the European cooperatives. The main problems are: lack of experience and insufficient capacity and professionalism as a particularly serious problem is the inability of some presidents to resist the destructive pressures that their personal interests have led them on cooperatives.

Currently in Europe, there are over 140 million. Cooperative members and about 30% of citizens in the European Union touch the cooperative idea by cooperatives created 4.5 million jobs and doing business for over € 1 trillion annual economic turnover. That is why, Stefanov said that as part of this economy Bulgarian cooperatives and created their business model have their share of sustainable development, but should continue to make efforts for its preservation in the future.
