On Friday, President of CITUB Plamen Dimitrov announced that 25 billion. Levs of GDP in the country is gray turnover.

 

According to the trade union leader, quoted by Mediapool, it is necessary to distinguish between the concepts of informal economy, black economy and smuggling and informal economy. With the black economy must fight irreconcilably power business we have to fight the gray economy and the informal economy should be legalized, but not kill, added the leader of the Confederation.

 

Dimitrov said that for the last 10 years in Bulgaria there were about 300 more significant measures to tackle the gray economy, but they had a short-term effect and the share of the shadow economy is almost the same at the beginning and end of the period.

 

Best measures according to Dimitrov need for more robust and systematic public campaign. The most important is to be minimized gray flows if there is no way the business to generate turnovers gray, gray and payments will be reduced, he added. According to him the enormous source of gray turnovers were public procurement by at least 6-8 billion lev a year of public money coming into the business through the PPA.

 

CITUB together with CEIB will propose a new project to help the 100 largest Bulgarian companies to disseminate their best practices of corporate governance, compliance with operating conditions, tax regimes to their main subcontractors.

 

Goranov: The gray economy threatens the rule of law in the country
